Anticipation

 

The weak hand "anticipates" or becomes ready for the next sign while the other hand is still articulating the prior sign.

Here the signer says something like, “… Words, um I mean signs not words!”

 

When she produces the ASL sign NOT, the left hand is already up and producing the base hand for the next sign WORD.
